Rural Entrepreneurship & Skills
The United Nation recognizes that “one in five people in developing regions live on less than $1.25 a day, and there are millions more who make little more than this daily amount, plus many people risk slipping back into poverty”.
Ecociate team members have extensive experience in providing specialized services in social research, opportunity assessment, impact and outcome assessments, strategy formulation, implementation support and capacity building to promote market-based Livelihoods for the poor and marginalized population for since long. We strive to empower disadvantaged communities involved in Agriculture, Horticulture, Non-timber forest produce, Livestock, Non- farm and service sectors by making them key stakeholders in value chains through co-creation with the private sector and facilitate employment generation through relevant jobs as well as enterprise promotion in a sustainable manner.
Ecociate’s new generation Livelihoods promotion initiatives include critical components of Climate resilience building for communities, green enterprise promotion, skill building strategies which are more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. Our Livelihoods promotion are thus aligned towards the Sustainable Development Goals which focuses on the eradication of all forms of extreme poverty by 2030 including resilience building of the poor and those in vulnerable situations so as to reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related extreme events and other economic, social and environmental shocks and disasters among others.
