Organic food is increasingly being produced by small farmers in niche initiatives in different parts of the country. However, when it comes to building a consumer base for the products being produced, there is a massive gap. To bridge this gap between producer and consumer and create awareness on safe food and certification of organic products, ecology-based organisation Ecociate recently developed an e-platform christened ‘Earthy n Green’. Through this it hopes to bring all the organic stakeholders together to co-ordinate with each other and participate in growing the market for organic food. The aim of the initiative is to enable an ecosystem that will take care of crucial issues such as creating awareness about safe & organic food, lowering certification costs and ensuring the availability of genuine products.
